Introduction
​
We are looking for an exceptionally insightful robotics engineer with a total system perspective to expand the functionality and robustness of Med Robots robots. You will be responsible for developing solutions for robotic applications in the real world. Starting with a strong theoretical framework, you'll develop complex algorithms, integrate code in a production-level collaborative software environment, work with sensor integration, and verify functionality with our robots and user interfaces.

Responsibilities

Integrate and expand capabilities using LIDAR, SONAR, wheel encoders, IMU and computer vision for autonomous real-world navigation.

Implement algorithms that run on robots, both internal to the software system and customer-facing.

Improve localisation, overcome obstacles, identify the cause of software failures, develop new techniques for mapping and navigation.

Integration of GPS-based navigation features.

Ensure that the implementation is carefully thought out, keeping in mind readability, compute, scalability, maintainability, testing, and other best practice considerations.

Proactive in discovering issues with existing configuration.

Design skills to choose the best solution to solve a given problem.
Requirements

Master in Robotics Science.

More than 5 years of experience writing production level software / hardware versions.

Proficiency in standalone technology stack.

Excellent coding skills in C++, Python and Bash.

Experience in working with Linux systems.

General understanding for writing tests and testable code.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in software development for autonomous systems.

Good understanding of robotics concepts such as sensor fusion, location, path planning, FSMs etc.
